Accessibility
Timbrii is committed to digital accessibility for all music fans, journal authors, and visitors, including people with visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive disabilities. We engineer our web application against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard as our continuous engineering benchmark.
Technical Accessibility Features
- Keyboard Navigation: A “Skip to content” link becomes visible when focused and lets visitors move past repeated navigation. We use native links, buttons, and form controls to support keyboard interaction. Complete keyboard coverage of every journey remains a testing target.
- Dialogs and Focus: Shared dialog components include accessible names and support keeping focus inside an open dialog and returning it when dismissed. Please report any dialog that traps you or moves focus unexpectedly.
- Ratings and Forms: Rating sliders support arrow-key adjustments. Labels and associated error messages help visitors identify fields and correct mistakes. Assistive-technology behavior still needs evaluation across supported browsers.
- Color Contrast: Color tokens across dark and light themes are engineered to meet or exceed WCAG AA minimum contrast ratios (4.5:1 for standard body text, 3:1 for large text and interactive UI borders).
- Reduced Motion: Interface transitions and layout animations automatically respect user preferences for reduced motion (
prefers-reduced-motion: reduce), disabling non-essential motion. - Internationalization and Language Direction: The application declares dynamic HTML
langattributes matching user selection across 14 supported languages and adjusts text direction accordingly.
Feedback and Contact Channels
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Timbrii. If you experience an accessibility barrier, encounter difficulties with assistive technology, or require information in an alternate format:
Email: [email protected]
Web Reporting Form: Content & Accessibility Assistance Form (/report)
Tell us which page or feature caused the barrier and, if relevant, the browser or assistive technology you used. Please avoid including sensitive personal information.
Operational Status and Continuous Improvement
These are engineering targets, not a claim of full WCAG conformance or third-party certification. Automated checks cover only part of accessibility. A complete evaluation with assistive technologies, including screen readers across browsers and operating systems, has not been established by those checks. We use reported barriers to guide further review and fixes.
